A fast-acting waiter saved a girl and her mother from serious harm in Coral
Springs on Saturday when an SUV jumped a curb and started barreling toward
them, a fire-rescue spokesman said.
Tony Digesu, 22, a waiter at Roly Poly Sandwiches on University Drive, pulled
the two away from their outdoor table when he saw a driver nearby lose control
of her truck and head toward them. Digesu was clipped by the SUV, and Hazel
Rademaker, 50, and her daughter, Renee Rademaker, 11, both of Coconut Creek,
were hurt as well, but all the injuries were minor, fire-rescue spokesman Mike
Moser said.
